With a strong background in analytics, Six Sigma professionals are well-positioned to lead the digital transformation within their organization. Why? Because data science is the process of extracting information and learning from data in order to inform decision making in a proactive and systematic fashion that can be generalized. As a Six Sigma practitioner you have likely been doing this for years but may need to add some additional machine learning techniques to your analytics toolkit to address the new challenges associated with the magnitude of data in the digital age. For example, regression is a standard six sigma analytics tool, but this classical approach applied to the analysis of big data can present problems. Join me in learning how to move from regression to regression trees and beyond as a first step in the journey toward big data analytics.
