Alka Bhave is the Sr. Director of Quality Management at Vencore, Inc. Vencore employs 3,800 dedicated employees providing information solutions, engineering and analysis to the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of Defense and Federal/Civilian Agencies.

In this capacity, Alka is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and execution of the Vencore Quality Management Organization, including Quality Management Systems & Credentials (CMMI, ISO9001 and AS9100), Vencore Business Analytics (VBA)/Lean Six Sigma Program, FedRAMP Third Party Assessment (3PAO) Organization, ITIL Foundations Accredited Training Organization (ATO), Vencore Asset Library and Process Framework, and INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) engagement. Alka is dual-hatted as the VBA/LSS program lead, overseeing the deployment of the LSS program and development of Vencore’s LSS Master Black Belts, Black Belts, Green Belts, and White Belts.

Alka is a LSS Master Black Belt, SAFe Agilist and PMI PMP with extensive expertise in leading business transformation efforts for IC, DoD, and Civilian government agencies. She is a recognized industry change agent, architecting high impact initiatives for government customers that have resulted in millions of dollars saved through innovative application of industry best practices. She has also used LSS approaches in strategic planning/program management, to update customers strategic plans and create mission CONOPs for future capabilities. She has been a LSS practitioner since 2003, in which year she received Green Belt certification from Lockheed Martin Corporation. In 2008, she received Black Belt certification from Lockheed Martin Corporation, and completed Master Black Belt training from Villanova University in 2012.

Over 20 years of experience in full lifecycle systems engineering, Alka has contributed to the development of complex space and ground systems for NASA, FAA, DHS and IC customers. Her experience includes requirements/ICD development, systems architecture, system integration, verification and validation, and operations/maintenance of deployed systems. She has extensive experience as a functional engineering manager, gaining organizational leadership experience. Additionally, she spent 2 years as a deputy program manager of a large Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) contract. Alka has worked on both hardware and software development contracts as well as Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) contracts, fully understanding both sides of the government contracting landscape. Her notable career achievements include top performance awards from Lockheed Martin Corporation, and the SI Organization Inc./Vencore, Inc., and a Government customer receiving an Acquisition Award as a direct result of one of Alka’s LSS initiatives.

Alka received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1996, and a M.S. in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1998. She was inducted into Tau Beta Pi, the National Engineering Honors society, in 1998, and currently remains a member. Alka is currently working to advance Quality Management and the deployment of the Lean Six Sigma program within Vencore and provide these capabilities as service to Government customers.
