Charles Chen

Master Black Belt, Morrill Learning Center, San Jose, CA, USA

Dr. Chen has over 15 years of industrial experience among research development, new product introduction, and product quality control in the hard disk drive industry. Charles has moved to Healthcare/Medical Device Industry since Y2012. Charles received his B.S. of Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University, and Ph.D. from University of California at Berkeley. Charles holds 12 Engineering patents issued in US and over 15 technical papers.

Charles Chen is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and is currently holding 14 ASQ (American Society for Quality) certificates including CRE (Certified Reliability Engineering), CSSBB (Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt), CSQE (Certified Software Quality Engineering), CMQ/OE (Certified Manager Quality/Organizational Excellence, CHA (Certified HACCP Auditor), CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), CQA (Certified Quality Auditor), and CBA (Certified Biomedical Auditor). Charles passed all 14 ASQ Certification Exams in 2 years, and which learning experience has made him becoming a more diverse Quality Trainer and Leader beyond Six Sigma fields.

Charles has over 10 years of experience in counseling and teaching at all levels of management in the areas of DFSS DMADOV, Design for Software, DMAIC, 8D, Design for Reliability, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Control, Total Quality Management, Big Data Mining, Software Quality Engineering, FDA/QSR Regulations, Quality Audit, JMP Pro, SAS, Minitab, SPSS Statistics/Modeler, R, JAVA, and ASQ Certification Exam Preparation Courses.

Professor Chen is an Adjunct Faculty in the graduate schools and teaching Business Intelligence, Organizational Leadership, Project Management Professional (PMP) in MBA courses; DOE, Engineering Statistics, Reliability Engineering, Scientific Computing in Engineering courses; Big Data, Data Mining, Software Engineering in Computer Science courses.

Charles Chen has helped more than 100 local professionals/graduate students certified ASA (American Statistics Association) Certificates such as CQE, CSSBB, CRE, CSQE, and CBA. The passing rate is > 95%. Charles was also invited as a guest speaker frequently in the local ASQ seminars. He has also helped students/professionals certified PMI PMP, CAPM Project Management Certificate, IBM SPSS Statistics and preparing for taking SPSS Modeler Data Mining Certification Exams. His graduate students also certified Cloudera, Scrum, SAS when taking his Graduate courses. He has mentored more than 500 Green Belt Projects, 100 Black Belt Projects, 20 Mega Projects in his 12+ yrs Six Sigma Leader Positions.

Dr. Chen is currently helping his son and several Middle and High School kids on learning SPSS Statistics, AP Statistics, Bio Statistics, JAVA Science Analytics, Lean Six Sigma, ASA Statistics Poster and Project. His G10-G12 Lynbrook High School Team won this year’s 1st Place Award in ASA Statistics Poster Contest. He has also helped more than 15 kids in 10-15 yrs old certified IBM SPSS Statistics Cert. Local ASQ Statistics and Reliability group invited his five ASA Statistics Project Teams to present their ASA Work in front of local ASQ Quality Professionals and Gurus (the first time ASQ Boys and Girls presented in local ASQ event). He is building a very comprehensive Youth Big Data Analytics curriculum concentrated on Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Biology, Economics, and Finance fields. He has earned friendship, trust and respect from teenagers and their parents to help build the solid Analytical Skills, Team Building and Long-Term Leadership visions. This program is very meaningful to guide teenagers on how to manage their life through quality guiding principles.

Who May Submit: This online form may be used by a principal speaker, co-speaker, contact person, or a committee member submitting on behalf of a speaker.

Multiple Proposals: You may submit multiple proposals.

Conference Registration Fee:
The conference registration fee is waived for the principal speaker of accepted proposals. Speakers are responsible for their travel expenses and arrangements. Co-speakers will receive a 30% discount for the conference that they are presenting at.

Length of Presentations: Technical sessions are typically 35 minutes. There will be a limited number of "double" sessions, 70 minutes, at the end of each day.

Keywords:Please include three keywords with a maximum of 100 characters, including spaces.
