With more than 25 years of management experience, Luis was introduced to Kaizen concepts in the late 90s and directed the apparel industry transformation from traditional manufacturing to Lean/workcell manufacturing in Central America and the Caribbean. The designed workcells are now the industry standard. This effort introduced kaizen basics to more than 60,000 workers in his 14-year tenure in the apparel industry. In the last five and a half years he has led the adoption of the Simpler Business System® into Termoencogibles’ culture. By mid-2017, the company was concurrently running 11 Value Streams and had held 438 events, reaching more than 1400 associates. During 2018, Luis successfully led Termoencogibles’ operational expansion to a seventh country by opening a new manufacturing plant in Vietnam, which is currently operational. This same year Luis also managed the opening of a new plant in El Salvador,as well as the acquisition and operational takeover of a former competitor. Luis Carlos is married and has four kids. He holds a B.S. in electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, and an MBA from Sam Houston State University.
