Abstract
Ideally, when we begin process improvement efforts (especially lean transformation), we would like to change many elements for the process (e.g., change people's job content, move machinery, alter flows). However, sometimes that is not possible. Especially with large defense contractors, many elements of the process are contractually obligated or are not easily changed due to other constraints. In this presentation, the presenter will walk through how he worked with a large defense contractor to initiate changes in the flow and balance of resources to make improvements even when nothing else is allowed to change.
