Technology is advancing exponentially and, in the next few years, we expect to see tremendous leaps in the realm of possibility. In this era of Artificial Intelligence, does the principles of Lean Six Sigma still apply. What role does Lean Six Sigma play and how can it aid AI and Machine Learning. Lean Six Sigma aims to improve process performance by reducing variance. Reducing variance will help manage process targets, and ensure the business reach its goals of productivity enhancement and efficiency gains. The world of process improvement has clearly changed since 2001, and companies must also change. It’s time that Lean Six Sigma is used with AI to identify and eliminate waste in the business processes.
The elimination of process waste using Lean Six Sigma turbocharged with AI provides a huge potential profit increase and creates a defensible business model against all competitors. Artificial Intelligence, enabled by Cloud computing, has ushered in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Using Lean Six Sigma in conjunction with AI, we can identify business processes for automation and deploy AI to make them efficient and effective. The advent of cloud computing, the internet of things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) has made Lean Six Sigma techniques more relevant. LSS enables dynamic and efficient analysis of complex processes. The volume of data has changed, and continues to spiral upwards, and machine intelligence, including learning, simplifies the sorting process. Proper implementation of Lean Six Sigma practices can turn data into insights to refine and improve business processes and product management and services. Black Belts have traditionally been engaged to turn raw data into actionable information and now they have the digital tools, sophisticated software and Machine Learning techniques at their disposal to guide decision making around much larger volumes of data. This presentation will focus on the use of Lean Six Sigma methodology in conjunction with Machine Learning techniques to handle large volume of datasets to improve business processes and identifying automation opportunities through the use LSS tools and principles.
