Joseph Kunnath
Manager, LSS Master Black Belt, City of Dallas, Dallas, TX, USA


Joseph Kunnath, a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Chemical Engineer, is passionate, persistent and process-oriented when dealing with complex problems that often require innovative solutions. Kunnath has extensive knowledge in operational excellence, quality and engineering management in the oil & gas, coatings, chemical, and automotive industries in both domestic and international environments.

Kunnath is currently leading Lean Six Sigma implementation for the City of Dallas focusing on key strategic priority areas in business processes and operations, which enables him to utilize his 20 years of private industry, project management and business experiences within the municipal government environment to eliminate waste and improve services.

He is highly skilled in advanced statistical techniques including DOE and excels at identifying key process improvement opportunities that significantly transform service levels and reduce cost. Kunnath uses teaching, coaching, mentoring and motivating employees in continuous improvement, project management and Kaizen. He also is experienced in Toyota Production System and Kaizen.

Armed with a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology—Bombay, Kunnath has demonstrated project management skills and charted successful careers in both private and public sector. He is proud to commit his knowledge, skills and experience to serve the City of Dallas.
