Lean it´s more than only tools and discipline, Lean is a transformation culture. We have machines and methods but our people needs to have “waste glasses” to identify the waste and execute actions so it can make difference in a complex process as is recycling and go beyond to achieve results.

Starting with Value Stream Analysis, to identify the big problems we discover many “easy benefits” that impact the lead time but the really breakthrough thinking begins on complete the flow design and balance takt time to process capacity and technology using standard work and pull systems.

Our original thinking about capacity was centered on great capacity needs great machines, but that was wrong, because the operator and the machines capacities are completely different.

You can reduce about 50% people idle time, reduce work in process in 80% and all the related costs with this focus execution.

Focus on balance capacity!

Conference Chair's Message

Joel Smith

Continuous Improvement is not just something a Lean Six Sigma (LSS) practitioner leads their organization in practicing, but is also a core competency of their professional makeup. That is why more and more innovative and leading companies are looking for leaders that use the LSS way of thinking in everything they do within their organization.

In this era of data science and machine learning, the ability to connect the dots for end to end solutions across the boundaries of people, process and systems is the key to success. This year’s conference is focused on making sure we are “continuing” our journey as practitioners. Whatever your level of experience, you will learn new concepts, new perspectives and network with the best in the industry.
