Robert F. Rhyder is presently a consultant in Jacksonville, FL. A mechanical engineer and graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem PA, his past employment includes roles as IBM Managing Consultant and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Vice President of Quality for Hamilton Beach/Proctor-Silex, and Director of Engineering, Quality and R&D for Garlock Bearings. He is a former “Designated Key Executive” of the BF Goodrich Corporation and has held ASQ Certifications as a Quality Auditor, Quality Engineer and a Six Sigma Black Belt. Past employment and experience includes the aerospace, defense, automotive, packaging, food, pharmaceutical, healthcare and steel industries. Performance achievements include defect rates as low as ½ ppm as a Tier 1 supplier to automotive assembly plants and zero ppm as a bearing supplier to HVAC manufacturing plants. He has led organizations to win dozens of quality awards from major customer accounts and ISO certification in numerous US and international manufacturing facilities.
Accomplishments include multiple organization-wide implementations of performance management systems and Lean Six Sigma to maximize efficiency, productivity and profitability. He has leveraged data analytics to oversee business process re-engineering efforts and continuous improvement in collaboration with all levels of organizations, from CEO to shop floor.
