Erin King

Corporate Continuous Improvement Manager, PPHC, Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada

Erin King is the Corporate Continuous Improvement Manager for Precision Partners Holding Company (PPHC), a division of AK Steel. Erin has grown into this role by first starting her Lean journey as a participant in a Kaizen event, quickly becoming a Kaizen team facilitator and is now the corporate leader helping all divisional Lean Coordinators work together to drive change across her organization. She has a passion for transformation and one of her favorite lines is “because that’s the way we’ve always done it”. Erin joined PPHC in 2010 and brings to the role more than 20 years of automotive manufacturing experience. She has helped the company grow and expand as a Tier-1 automotive manufacturing organization. PPHC now employs 1,400 people in 10 locations across North America. At PPHC, Erin oversees productivity initiatives for all of the manufacturing divisions. Focusing on quantifiable bottom line improvements, Erin’s ability to lead the lean team and provide real-time solutions have helped drive exceptional financial results. Her tenacity for excellence has led to more than $3.5M hard dollar savings in 2019 alone. Ms. King combines her technical knowledge with personal skills, to develop a unique “outside the box” approach to life’s challenges. She is a Lean Manufacturing expert, certified by the University of Michigan, College of Engineering. Happily married to her husband of 12 years, together they have a beautiful 10-year-old daughter. She has a passion for travel and adventure and enjoys dancing at Zumba classes in the evenings.
