Geir Ringen is a Professor at Norwegian University of Science and Technology within the field of mechanical and industrial engineering, and he holds a MSc within industrial economics and a PhD in the domain of product development. He is working within the research group of design, analytics and manufacturing, focusing on manufacturing systems. He is currently leading the NAPIC research centre, NTNU Aluminum Product Innovation Centre, aiming at increase the content of cross-disciplinary and research-based innovation within the aluminum sector. Ringen also holds an adjunct professor position at Texas A&M and has been visiting researcher at University of Michigan. He has been attending numerous conferences as speaker and invited speaker on manufacturing and product development topics. Prior to the academic career at NTNU he has 15 years of industrial experience from sectors like: automotive, marine, consultancy, and energy.
